My Teammate Thought He Was Talking to Me. My Agent Wrote the Report. It Got Three Stars.
How I let my agent watch my WhatsApp, work with my teammate Nikhil, and build a college report that our mentor gave three stars.
sugar built my final year engineering major project report. i never opened Google Docs. never typed a single page.
for those who don't know, sugar 🦩 is one of my personal agents, along with iota 👾.
and our mentor loved it. he gave three stars on it even though there was no grading system😂, he just did it because he liked it that much. he even told the other students to refer to our report.
that was a good feeling. here's how it happened.
The Major Project
In the final year of engineering, every team has to build a major project and submit a report on it. ours was an automated system that splits video content into parts using unsupervised machine learning.
everyone on the team were done with their part. now i have to create the report.
Why a report is such a pain
you may think a college report looks easy. it's not. you have to be careful with:
- math formulas, typeset and numbered properly
- indentation and spacing
- alignment on every page
- fonts, headings, margins, page numbers
- every small thing the template wants
it's tedious and it eats a lot of time. and even Codex and Claude struggle with this. one wrong image shift and the whole page looks off.
the setup
i gave sugar one job: look after my WhatsApp major project group, all the context/material is already present in it, and coodinate with team to get the report done.
Team feedback in the Major Project group
→ sugar reads it
→ fixes the report
→ posts the new version back in the group
then it loops. someone replies, sugar fixes again.

Nikhil thought he was talking to me
my friend, Nikhil owns the code repo and the report template, and he is our quality gate. he checks formatting and alignment closely and sends feedback in hinglish, as text and voice notes.
here's the funny part. he thought he was talking to me. he wasn't. he was talking to sugar. he sent feedback, sugar fixed it and posted the next version, and he checked again. round after round, and the whole report got done.
this was our mentor's reaction to the final report we sent after sugar🦩 was done.

i never messaged Nikhil for it. i didn't forward anything or open the doc. sugar read the group, understood the feedback, and acted.
i run my money and health the same way
quick side note, i don't open ten apps to manage my life either.
i have one dashboard with two things in it:
- finance: my expenses, month on month
- health and fitness: sleep, recovery, workouts, body scans
sugar keeps both updated. i just open the page and look.

the takeaway
we are in the agentic era now. having your own personal agent is such a unlock. not a chatbot you open once a day, but something that knows your work, knows your people and gets things done.
so if you are reading this, set up your own personal agent. start small.
if a job is long, boring and picky about details, hand it to your agent. you take the fun part. and have fun with your agent along the way.
the report was never about me typing. it was about getting it right. and sugar got it right.
